JOB SUMMARY:

Equinoxe is a premium boutique alternative investment fund administration service provider founded in 2007 by experienced hedge fund administration professionals. The Company is headquartered in Bermuda, with offices in Bermuda, Ireland (Dublin and Sligo), Atlanta, Mauritius, Malta, and Singapore.

As a Group Manager, the primary focus is the direct management of a team of Fund Accountants and their client relationships.  Additionally, this position is expected to have influence on process flows and operational capabilities, and work directly with the Head of Operations to ensure a high level of both client satisfaction and quality of service. 

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Setting operational direction for and managing a team of Fund Accountants and monitoring their work;
  • Ensuring the timely and accurate delivery of administration services to all clients;
  • Management of client launches and transitions; 
  • Review and sign-off of Net Asset Value packages;
  • Preparation, review, and sign-off of financial statements and reporting;
  • Review and sign-off partner/investor allocation calculations, including those related to incentive and management fees
  • Review and sign-off all investor services functions for their team’s funds including the following:
  1. Processing Subscription/Redemption requests on the funds
  2. Review and approval of transaction processing on the investor services system
  3. Paying out redemption proceeds and ensuring subscription proceeds are received in a timely manner and moved to the Prime Broker accounts as required
  4. Completing full AML checks on all investors
  5. Circulating investor statements upon completion of the NAV
  • Instruct, review and sign off clients’ payment instructions;
  • Research of accounting and tax issues;
  • Managing on-going client relationships requiring extensive levels of communication;
  • Assist in the preparation and analysis of budgets and management reporting packages;
  • Oversee the completion of partner/investor allocation calculations, including incentive and management fee calculations;
  • Preparing, analyzing, and reviewing periodic financial statements;
  • Assisting auditors and other fund participants and advisers;
  • Proactively develop and improve standard workflows;
  • Assist with training and knowledge transfer of new staff members;
  • Assist with setting team and staff goals and objectives;
  • Providing feedback to the Head of Operations regarding staff performance;
  • Escalate issues to the Head of Operations;
  • Maintain internal controls as outlined in SOC1;
  • Ownership and responsibility for special projects;
  • Other ad hoc requests as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • 8+ years of relevant accounting experience in the fund industry, preferably within alternative investment administration
  • Advanced supervisory skills and minimum three years’ team leadership experience
  • Undergraduate degree (or int’l equivalent) in Accounting or related field 
  • An internationally recognized accounting designation (CPA, CMA, CA, ACCA, etc) preferred, but not required
  • Strong understanding of accounting regulations, knowledge of US GAAP, IFRS, and other comprehensive bases of accounting;
  • Detailed knowledge and understanding of security types, fund structures, and fund domiciles;
  • Detailed knowledge in the calculation of the Net Asset Value of a fund while additional experience in transfer agency/investor services, middle office, financial reporting a plus;
  • Understanding of government regulations specific to fund domiciles;
  • Knowledge of partnership accounting, private equity experience a plus;
  • Knowledge of equalization and/or series treatment a plus;
  • Computer proficiency with strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite;
  • Familiarity with Advent Geneva preferred.
